Cy-Fair ISD mother charged with injury to a child and making a terroristic threat
A mother in the Cy-Fair Independent School District has been charged with injury to a child and making a terroristic threat, ABC13 reported on Sept. 11, 2026, citing court records.
The defendant is Shanika Hatcher. The government alleges she struck her son multiple times at Moore Elementary, was captured on video hitting her son at least 13 times, had her son wear a dress to embarrass him, and threatened to shoot up the school, according to ABC13.
The Cy-Fair ISD police department is the investigating agency, ABC13 reported. The case is at the charging stage and remains undecided and unresolved.
The charges are allegations. Hatcher has not been tried, and no outcome has been reached. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
