A Tasmanian couple has been charged with animal welfare offences involving about 246 dogs, according to the Examiner. Elizabeth Anne Bartlett and Paul Alan Bartlett, both 69, face charges that included failing to provide appropriate or sufficient food for about 246 dogs, failing to ensure the coats of about 21 dogs were not matted or tangled, housing dogs in areas lacking weather protection and contaminated with ammonia, failing to provide veterinary treatment to a dog, failing to maintain sleeping areas clean, and denying dogs their required 60 minutes of exercise a day.
