Two men have been charged in connection with an attack on a transgender woman near UW-Madison's Memorial Union, according to wmtv15news.com. Yorfred Marcano Gutierrez and Arturo Santos Albujas face charges of attempted second-degree sexual assault as a party to a crime, strangulation and suffocation as a party to a crime, false imprisonment as a party to a crime, and misdemeanor battery.
The charges stem from an incident in Dane County, where the government alleges the two men pushed the victim to the ground, punched her, pulled off portions of her clothing, and one choked her in an attempted sexual assault. The investigation was conducted by UW-Madison police.
