Two Sentenced in Separate Murder Cases; One Pleads Guilty
On August 24, 2026, Steven Aaron Zwick, 29, of Airdrie, was sentenced to life imprisonment with no eligibility for parole before 15 years in the murder of 29-year-old Chelsea Davidenas, according to the Calgary Herald. The Calgary Herald reports that Zwick and a co-accused, Angelynn Mock, restrained Davidenas, attempted to silence her, and Zwick placed his arm around her neck and a blanket around her face, causing her death. The Calgary Herald reports the sentencing; however, WOWT reports that Mock pleaded guilty in a separate case.
In a separate case, Angelynn Mock pleaded guilty in Sedgwick County District Court to charges including first-degree murder and second-degree murder, according to WOWT. WOWT reports that the government claims Mock killed her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, last Halloween in south Wichita. The charges are allegations, and Mock is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The cause of Davidenas's death has not been determined, and the investigation is ongoing.
