The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued a boil water advisory for a portion of the Sedgwick Co. RWD #4 public water supply system, according to KWCH. The advisory was initiated on September 9, 2026.
The affected area is generally south of Kellogg Avenue (Highway 54) from Maize Road on the east to 295th Street on the west, KWCH reported.
The advisory follows a water main break that resulted in a loss of pressure in the distribution system, according to KWCH. The department said failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
Residents are advised to boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water, KWCH reported. The advisory will remain in effect until the conditions that placed the system at risk of bacterial contamination are resolved.
