CPSC Recalls About 404 OeyUoc Pool Drain Covers Over Entrapment and Drowning Hazards

The recall notice states that units are involved and that the covers violate the entrapment protection standards of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, posing deadly entrapment and drowning hazards to consumers. The notice reports no injuries. According to the recall notice, the product is a white replacement pool drain cover with no labeling or product identification on the item itself. It comes in clear packaging with "X00501CQ7P," "OY-WG1048E-1P," "OeyUoc WG1048…Skimmer Lid SP1030" and "MADE IN CHINA" printed on the label, and includes two stainless steel screws. The says pool owners, pool operators and consumers should stop using pools with the recalled drain cover immediately and contact Yuanxinxiang for a full refund. To obtain a refund, the agency says to remove the cover from the pool, write "RECALL" on it with a permanent marker, photograph it and email the photo to OeyUocChina@163.com. Where feasible, the notice says to disable the cover by cutting its perimeter structure to prevent reinstallation or further functional use, then dispose of it. The also advises ensuring all pools and spas have VGBA-compliant drain covers and teaching children to stay away from drains.
