Flood Warning: Flooding Imminent in Washington OH Until Friday Morning
The National Weather Service in Charleston, WV, has issued a Flood Warning for Washington OH, effective until 7:00 AM EDT Friday, August 21, 2026. The warning was issued at 10:11 PM EDT Thursday, August 20.
According to the warning, flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several roads remain closed due to flooding, and streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
The Weather Service advises: "Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding." Residents are asked to report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when they can do so safely.
