Flood Watch for Tyler, Hardin, Southern Jasper and Other Southeast Texas Areas Through Wednesday Morning

Flood Watch Issued for Southeast Texas Areas Including Tyler, Hardin, and Southern Jasper Through Wednesday Morning
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Louisiana, has issued a Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas: Hardin, Lower Jefferson, Northern Orange, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, Southern Orange, Tyler, and Upper Jefferson. The watch is in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening through Wednesday morning.
Cities in the watch area include Ivanhoe, Gist, Evadale, Deweyville, Woodville, Hillister, Orange, Fred, Sabine Pass, Buna, Bridge City, Port Arthur, China, Beaumont, Spurger, Warren, Town Bluff, Sea Rim State Park, Nederland, Silsbee, Lumberton, Mauriceville, and Vidor.
According to the National Weather Service, excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Residents should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Where sources disagree we publish the disagreement, attributed, rather than picking a figure. Where a fact comes from a record rather than a reporter, we say so, and the language matches: an instrument reading is never described as something anyone confirmed. Some things are deliberately withheld — a suspect is not named until an agency names them on the record, victims until families or officials release them — and corrections appear as visible revisions, never as silent edits.
None of that makes a report true. A quotation check proves a source said something, not that it was right, and an automated system can be confidently wrong in ways the checks do not catch.
