The affected locations include the cities of Allendale, Statesboro, Ridgeland, Hinesville, Garden City, Walterboro, Metter, Millen, Pooler, Hampton, Claxton, Summerville, Yemassee, Sylvania, Saint George, Ludowici, Fort Stewart, Rincon, Reidsville, Savannah, Richmond Hill, Pembroke, and Springfield. The National Weather Service warned that Recommended precautions include drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, staying out of the sun, wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, checking on relatives and neighbors, limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening, and taking action if symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke occur.
