The National Weather Service Tulsa OK has issued a Heat Advisory for North and Central Sebastian, Southern Crawford, and Central and Southern Franklin Counties, in effect from noon to 7 PM CDT Monday, September 7, 2026. The advisory warns of dangerously hot conditions with ambient temperatures near 105 and heat index values up to 109 expected Monday afternoon. The advisory expires at 7 PM CDT Monday.
According to the advisory, heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, and are possible especially for those not acclimated to the conditions or performing strenuous activities. The NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors. It also recommends wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and limiting strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
