Heat Advisory for Terrell, Dougherty, Lee and Other South Central Georgia Counties From Noon to 6 PM EDT
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL, has issued a Heat Advisory for September 6, warning that hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. The advisory will be in effect from noon to 6 PM EDT today for Ben Hill, Berrien, Cook, Irwin, Tift, Turner, Worth, Dougherty, Lee, and Terrell Counties. It will expire at 6 PM EDT this evening.
Heat index values up to 109 are expected. The Weather Service advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors. For outdoor work, OSHA recommends frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency; call 9-1-1.

Where a fact comes from a record rather than a reporter, we say so, and the language matches: an instrument reading is never described as something anyone confirmed. Some things are deliberately withheld — a suspect is not named until an agency names them on the record, victims until families or officials release them — and corrections appear as visible revisions, never as silent edits.
None of that makes a report true. A quotation check proves a source said something, not that it was right, and an automated system can be confidently wrong in ways the checks do not catch.
