Heat Advisory Extended Through 8 PM EDT for Chesterfield and Lancaster Counties
The National Weather Service has extended the heat advisory for Chesterfield, Northern Lancaster, and Southern Lancaster Counties until 8 PM EDT today.
Everything reported for Lancaster County and within 40 miles of it, at every level. Warnings and official records name the county they apply to, which is the level most of them are issued at.

The heat advisory now runs longer than first issued, extending through Tuesday evening.
An advisory covering 17 zones across central South Carolina and east central Georgia runs until 8 p.m. tonight and returns from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service Columbia SC says.
The National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC has extended heat advisories across 22 zones in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
A heat advisory is in effect on August 16, 2026, with heat index values expected to reach up to 107.
