Heat Advisory for Lexington and Central, Western Kentucky Extended Through Friday
The National Weather Service has pushed the end of its heat advisory for Lexington and much of central and western Kentucky back to Friday evening.
Everything reported for Aiken County and within 40 miles of it, at every level. Warnings and official records name the county they apply to, which is the level most of them are issued at.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Lexington and much of central and western Kentucky, effective from 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Thursday, September 3, 2026, and lasting until 8 PM EDT Friday, September 4, 2026.
The heat advisory now runs longer than first issued, extending through Tuesday evening.
An advisory covering 17 zones across central South Carolina and east central Georgia runs until 8 p.m. tonight and returns from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service Columbia SC says.
One person was killed and one seriously injured in a February 6 accident involving a single-engine Cirrus SR22, according to the National Transportation Safety Board accident record.
